Stage 7This section follows quiet paths and tracks to Crickley Hill Country Park, a viewpoint area with extensive archaeology. Evidence of human activity on the hill dates back around 4,000 years, including the remains of an Iron Age hillfort. The route then crosses the open grassland of Barrow Wake before a final woodland stretch into Birdlip.
The stage passes through a sequence of woodland, farmland, open common, and escarpment scenery. Walkers should check current National Trail notices before setting out, as temporary diversions may be in place where major road works affect the line of the path near Birdlip and the A417.
