B&Bs and self-catering

Characterful small places and your own space for longer or more flexible stays.

B&Bs and self-catering

Bed and breakfasts, guest houses, and inns with a few rooms are often the most personal option on the trail: a hearty breakfast, local tips, and a short walk from the path in many villages. They suit walkers who want a fixed base for a night or two without the formality of a large hotel.

Self-catering cottages and apartments add flexibility if you prefer to cook, rest on a flexible schedule, or stay several nights in one spot. Book well ahead in peak season; smaller settlements have limited capacity during summer and bank holiday weekends, and some properties have minimum stays.
