Behind every waymark on the Cotswold Way is a network of organisations and volunteers who manage the trail, lead walks, and share local knowledge - from joining a guided group to buying an insider guide or speaking to the people who look after the path. Cotswolds National Landscape oversees the Cotswold Way National Trail across the designated landscape. Their site covers route information, diversions, circular walks, and ways to get involved with countryside care.
Cotswold Voluntary Wardens organise multistage guided walks so you can complete the trail over many months without arranging your own transport each day. Walks are led by two wardens, booked in advance, and very popular - waiting lists fill early.

The Cotswold Way Companion is an insider guide written by Cotswold Way Association members and Cotswold Voluntary Wardens who patrol and lead walks on the trail. It focuses on points of interest and the best views - useful before you set out, on the path, or as a reminder afterwards. Paperback and eBook editions are available from the CWA; proceeds support trail upkeep. Stage-based audio guides are also offered via Guide.AI.
