Leaving Broadway, the trail climbs back onto the Cotswold escarpment, with the village and surrounding countryside soon visible below. The route follows grassy tracks, field paths, and woodland toward Shenberrow Camp, the site of an Iron Age hillfort. From the high ground the path descends to Stanton, a village of limestone cottages set in rolling farmland.

Beyond Stanton the route crosses the Stanway Estate, passing parkland associated with a Jacobean house and the estate's noted gravity-fed fountain. The stage ends at Wood Stanway, where the walking is generally moderate rather than strenuous, with a succession of small rises and descents characteristic of this part of the escarpment.
