Registration is now open for the 2027 Cotswold Way Ultra Challenge, organised by Action Challenge on 12-13 June 2027.
The event is based at Cirencester, with a looped route through the Cotswolds taking in villages, footpaths, and sections of the Cotswold Way. Distances include 100km, 75km, 50km, and 25km, plus a 10K option in Cirencester. Participants can walk, jog, or run - see our Walking page for everyday trail guidance - with camping, hostel accommodation, transfers, and on-trail support available.
Events like this matter for the trail in ways that go beyond a single weekend. They bring walkers, joggers, and runners to the route who might not otherwise plan a multi-day hike, and they introduce the Cotswold Way to people exploring shorter or faster formats. That wider visibility helps more visitors understand what the National Trail offers - and the practical work that keeps it open.
Much of that upkeep falls to Cotswold Voluntary Wardens and partner organisations who maintain paths, waymarking, and access. When large, well-supported events draw fresh attention to the trail, it reinforces why that volunteer effort matters and helps more people value the path as a shared resource.
For entry options, dates, and booking, see the official event page: Cotswold Way Challenge.
