A long-running landscape project in the Cotswolds National Landscape aims to reduce the visual impact of overhead electricity lines that cross the plateau and sit close to stretches of the Cotswold Way.
If approved, around seven kilometres of overhead line and approximately 18 pylons would be replaced with cables buried underground, running from Postlip Mill near Winchcombe to the edge of the plateau north of Dowdeswell Wood.
Walkers on nearby stages may notice survey or construction activity if works go ahead. The longer-term goal is a clearer skyline along parts of the escarpment - something many visitors will welcome when the views open out towards the Severn Vale.
