To mark the 50th anniversary of the AONB, the magazine features Painswick on its cover, identifying it as the charming mill town that serves as the halfway mark of the trail. Hikers can follow the "Golden Anniversary Walk," an initiative where Board members walked the entire route from Bath to Chipping Campden to highlight the importance of the trail in the region's designated protected status.
